Newcombe House Client Types
Most young people at who reside with us have
had troubled pasts and some have had many placement
breakdowns. Newcombe House is a specialist residential
resource specifically designed for young adolescent
females who present with self injurious behaviour. In
addition to self harm, they may be experiencing associated
difficulties such as: an eating disorder, depression,
substance misuse, challenging behaviour, family breakdown,
post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual vulnerability
/abuse and other mental health issues.
Additionally, they may have had problems of abuse, substance
misuse and high levels of risk-taking behaviour. It is our
belief that through careful care planning, risk management and
continual assessment, this is the type of young person who can
benefit most from the service we provide.
